This template enables you to offer accommodation from the housing register (social housing waiting list) when you also want to end the section 66 homelessness prevention duty.

This letter:

• assumes the property is ready to let;
• has spaces for including details about the property and the tenancy, e.g. the rent, the identity of landlord, tenancy start date;
• gives the applicant a deadline by which they must contact you;
• explains the likely consequences for the applicant if they fail to contact you;
• explains the likely consequences - for the homelessness duty - if the applicant accepts or refuses the offer of tenancy;
• briefly sets out the matters the council has taken into account when deciding the accommodation is suitable for the applicant;
• informs the applicant of their statutory right to request a review.
