The Welsh Government recently introduced a Bill which, if enacted, will fundamentally reshape the statutory safety net for homeless persons.
I have uploaded a guide which shows how Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 will be amended if the Homelessness and Social Housing Allocation (Wales) Bill is enacted as it was introduced to the Senedd.
The document shows what text is to be omitted and the text that will be added, if the Bill becomes law.
If you are involved in planning for implementation, the guide will help you to drill down to precisely how the Government are seeking to amend the homelessness legislation in Wales. As you will see, there are lots of proposed changes, with many of them being very significant indeed.
Webinar
Landmark Chambers have also published a recent webinar about the Bill that I participated in. A copy of the accompanying presentation slides can be found on their website.
Keep updated on the Bill
You can track the Bill's progress on the Senedd's website.

Whilst the Bill contains much that it good, there are some changes that present real challenges for local councils. If you manage a statutory homelessness team, feel free to contact me for a no-obligation chat about how to prepare.
